Introduction
For me, any act of creation involves some degree of the spiritual element. A separation of spirit does not exist. God is the greatest creator of all. Infact, the Native Americans called God "The Great Imagination." And when we take part in creation we are co-creators acting with a free will within God's divine plan. While all my paintings exhibit a spiritual connection of some kind, I have selected these paintings as spiritual paintings because they demonstrate the awakening of the divine love and light found within. And in this way they are expressing not only a spiritual connection to God, but a prayer for the awakening of our consciousness and acceptance to the love that will guide us into the New Age.

Painting Technique
Pastel Paintings: The use of pastels is a practice in intuitive art and meditation. In taking the time to remove my "self" from the process I visit different colors and the way they appear on the paper with a child-like heart. I let my feeling take hold of the creation. It's the colors that I lose control over and let unfold before me. With oil pastels things get messy as I push more and more colors down on the canvas. I rapidly switch between colors and let my instincts take control. When all the layers are built up and the colors make me smile, I am done.
Acrylic Paintings: When painting with a brush I enjoy the texture and rich colors that acrylic brings. I often add a glaze medium gloss mixture to my paint and rework many layers with small round brushes. The result is vibrant color and thick brush strokes of texture and lines that form movement and life within the painting.
Inner Peace
Within this painting you will find an Om at the center of the heart. The sound of Om (pronounced: ah / oh / mmm / silence) is considered to be the sound of the universe and is used in prayer or meditation to bring peace and connection to life's joyful sound. Also, you will find the seven colors of the rainbow or light spectrum within the spiral that is around the figure. Each frequency of color corresponds to the seven chakra energy centers within the human body as follows: red = base of the spine, orange = abdomen, yellow = solar plexus, green = heart, blue = throat, indigo = brow, violet = crown.

Balance
Derived from the Flower of Life pattern, this painting represents obtaining peace through the opening of the heart and by the balancing of the mind, body, and spirit. The image in the center is of a person in meditation or prayer, and highlighted in yellow is the Star of David. The Flower of Life pattern is sacred geometry, both ancient and modern. Within this symbol can be found all the building blocks of the universe that we call the Platonic Solids. The symbol can be used as a metaphor to illustrate the connectedness of all life and spirit within the universe.

All Family
To portray a message I like to paint words in a natural way or in a way that they appear like nature. I also like to build up many layers of paint while experimenting with colors and enjoying the fine lines of texture from the brush strokes. While “All Family” is somewhat of a landscape, the overall abstract imagery is also of an angel. The message is that we as people of the world are all God’s children. And we need to let go of our judgement of one another and ourselves so that we are no longer seperate.

Kokopelli Jam
I was inspired by the Native Hopi Kokopelli figure. The Kokopelli represents fertility and the ushering in of spring. It is said that the Kokopelli carries unborn children on his back and distributes them to women. :) The Kokopelli also represents the spirit of music and the laughter that opens us up and frees us from rigid preconception.

Create Love
Within the center of the heart is a form that represents 2 people coming together in love with their foreheads touching. If you turn the painting on its side the same form spells the letters "CRE 8."
