Introduction
If love is the guiding force and the glue that holds all things together, wouldn't it be true that when you love yourself and others you are connecting to all that is? Each of these abstract word art paintings are an expression of love. They are meant as reminders and ways to connect with the universal nature of love that is within us. I have felt each one within my heart, so strongly, that I was compelled to paint them.

Painting Technique
In order to obtain the texture and rich colors needed, I use acrylic paints and small round brushes. In the process of reaching a painting's completed state, I rework layers of varying colors over and over again, resulting in thick brush strokes of texture and lines that form movement and life within the painting.

This piece is a reminder to bring warmth and a joyous expression into life.

Live Love
The abstract natural forms in this piece are of a person, a tree, a spiral of seasons, and a river that flows through the center and outward. The message is to open up, to become alive, and live by letting a spring of love flow through you from within.

Love Nature Back
I created this piece in response to the way we are polluting the earth at an alarming rate. Because Nature is inseparable from ourselves, anything that we do to her we are ultimately doing to our bodies. And when we love and respect Nature and all her natural systems, we allow for her to correctly nurture us and sustain a healthy balance of life.

Simple
This painting was derived from a pink silhouetting sunset. A sunset is so powerfully beautiful and simple at the same time. It’s amazing the play with colors that God demonstrates to us on a daily basis. This piece reminds me to live a simple life because Christ tells us we should have a simple heart if we want to reach God.

Relax
This piece conveys the dancing reflections of a pool of water within the message to "relax." I enjoyed separating the shades of blue and painting them in a way that they bring movement to something that is static. I highlighted areas that already existed to bring out "relax" in a natural way. It is very important in this modern day that we find a way to slow down our minds and become conscious of our actions. This would release our anxiety, and allow us to exist in the present moment and be at one with the creative flow - a place of peace, faith, and imagination.

All Family
To portray a message I like to paint words in a natural way or in a way that they appear like nature. I also like to build up many layers of paint while experimenting with colors and enjoying the fine lines of texture from the brush strokes. While “All Family” is somewhat of a landscape, the overall abstract imagery is also of an angel. The message is that we as people of the world are all God’s children. And we need to let go of our judgement of one another and ourselves so that we are no longer seperate.

Balance
Derived from the Flower of Life pattern, this painting represents obtaining peace through the opening of the heart and by the balancing of the mind, body, and spirit. The image in the center is of a person in meditation or prayer, and highlighted in yellow is the Star of David. The Flower of Life pattern is sacred geometry, both ancient and modern. Within this symbol can be found all the building blocks of the universe that we call the Platonic Solids. The symbol can be used as a metaphor to illustrate the connectedness of all life and spirit within the universe.
