I’m not going to tell you how dark the world can appear. You already know. The keys to rising above it can be many, but they are all centered around one thing – God’s Love. Call the Creator Consciousness what you want, for there are many aspects of the One. Whenever you have to fall back on something because the pull of the negativity in the self has you stumbling in a downward spiral, only you are responsible for finding God’s Love. What else do you have to lean on?

I will never tell you what to believe, but I will tell you that when you do believe in something that inspires you, that brings you up to a higher level, with a higher vision, and a higher purpose, and greater faith – you are believing in God’s Love. For God is Love, and this living source emanates throughout every molecule, in every realm of existence, and every conscious being that says “I Am”.

Claude Monet “Haystack End of the Summer Morning”

In the 1870s Claude Monet and fellow artists started the movement of impressionism in spite of harsh opposition from the conventional art community in France. This was very much an “abstracted” form of art. When I first viewed artwork of the impressionist period in person at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, there was always a question that seemed to silently exist in the echoey halls: “What were they really expressing?”

There was such light, such freedom and spirit that the subjects of their paintings imbued.  Whoever thought a dead haystack could look so alive and beautiful?   The impressionists put Life into everything they saw. Could it be that deep down they knew there was more to existance than what is revealed by the physical senses and mere appearences? It was as if their imaginative intuitive instincts knew and wanted to express the living energy that is within all things through art.

If you go back in time you would see a shift in the way of thinking in art and science right around this time.  There was a desire to explore and express the unseen.  Not too long after the impressionists appeared Albert Einstein proved that everything is made up of energy.  And were the impressionists not painting energy?   It’s even possible that an artist like Claude Monet could have played a role in shifting the way people think to more readily accept Einstein’s theory as fact.  But in any case the collective consciousness was ready to accept more of the grand truth and artists were willing to paint it, and that is, that we are all connected.

The choice is ours.  The artwork we create does not have to be devoid of beauty, appear chaotic, come across as violent, or present random obscurity for the sake of selling to those that get turned on by dark intrigue and oddities.  Yes even abstract art today can present a certain quality that does indeed inspire and rekindle a connection to The Divine. This can be done through referencing a higher beauty, rhythm, sacred geometry, nature, balance, the universe, using words, and in other harmonious ways.   But it first comes down to the artist and whether or not he/she desires a higher vision and deeper understanding of reality and then wants to then express this through art.  It is a decision to turn to the Spirit within instead of an outside source. By seeking instead your inner connection to God or higher consciousness, all things are added to you, including a higher level of art.

This is a very abstract art piece using both circular and angular forms. The process was experimental and the final forms and colors ended up inspiring something within me. Interpretation and feelings that may come over you when viewing abstract art such as this are entirely your own. But my own feelings during and after the creation of this piece were that of something quite spiritual – That God is within everything, including us. It is only our state of consciousness that keeps us outside of the kingdom of heaven. For the true kingdom of heaven is a state of consciousness. And that is why I entitled it “Kingdom Within”.
