artist statement

"Subtle Atmosphere is an abstract seascape painting that emerged a little bit on its own.  It began as pure texture without a thought in my mind as to what it was going to become. The colors I chose reflected on my mood. I was in a very peaceful state. I was reminded of a stay on Nantucket Island and used that as my inspiration. I wanted to merge heaven and sea and the scale of everything is to accentuate the grandness of nature." - Jaison Cianelli
